Getting your Zoom10 setup is a piece of a cake in FieldGenius. In this guide, we are going to show you how to get your total station paired and ready to begin working.
To begin, choose the Select Instrument option.
Within the Instrument Profile menu, select the Add Profile option.
In the New Instrument Profile menu, and select the Total Station option.
Ensure that the Make and Model are set to GeoMeax and the model as Zoom10. Give the Profile an appropriate name.
Select Create to make the profile.
With the Profile created, select the Setup Communication option.
In the Communication menu, ensure the Connection Type is set to Bluetooth.
Once selected, choose the Search option.
Once the search is complete, select the Bluetooth option with the same name as the Serial Number on your total station.
With the connection established, select the Connect option.
You can leave the EDM Settings and Measurement Tolerance as is. Select Done to finish.

To orientate your total station using a backsight, select the Setup option on the Map Screen.
Next, from the Measure Mode option, select Set Up.
To shoot the backsight, ensure that the Occupy Point option is selected.
Enter the relevant Scale Factor. Next, enter the point that your total station is atop. Enter the point Name, ID or select the Point from the List.
Enter the Instrument Height.
Next, ensure that the Backsight method is set to Backsight by Point.
Enter the point that your backsight is atop. Enter the point Name, ID or select the Point from the List.
Next aim at your backsight. Select Measure Angle and Distance.
You will now be presented with the orientation results. If the results meet your needs select Accept.

To orientate your total station using a backsight, select the Setup option on the Map Screen.
Next, from the Measure Mode option, select Set Up.
To shoot the backsight, ensure that the Occupy Point option is selected.
Enter the relevant Scale Factor. Next, enter the point that your total station is atop. Enter the point Name, ID or select the Point from the List.
Enter the Instrument Height.
Next, ensure that the Backsight method is set to Backsight by Direction.
Enter the direction you have orientated the total station.
Next aim at your backsight. Select Measure Angle and Distance.
You will now be presented with the orientation results. If the results meet your needs select Accept.

Changing or creating a new target in FieldGenius is very straightforward. To begin, ensure that you are connected to a total station.
Next, select the Targets menu on the right side of the screen.
Within the Targets menu, select the Add Target option.
Next, enter the information relevant to your prism.
Once complete, select Create to save your prism.
You can now select any of your prism options from the menu.

Do you need another view of your stakeout? With FieldGenius, you can have the view be orientated to your total station.
To begin, select Settings.
Within the Settings menu, select the Staking option.
Select your view orientation from the Orientation Total Station dropdown.
